Valère, the trip to Ajaccio, last and already relegated, could see AS Monaco assured of finishing second in Ligue 1 and qualifying directly for the group stage of the Champions League...
"It's a very important match in the race to qualify for the Champions League, our objective. I remember the first match this season in which we really struggled against a very defensive and organised side. We scored very late. We will try and get the ball wide and hopefully have a bit of luck..."
You often play alongside Dimitar Berbatov, like against OGC Nice (1-0) last Sunday, what do you think about the Bulgarian striker?
"First of all, we are very lucky at Monaco to have four attackers with completely different profiles... It's great. Dimitar is a very precise and intelligent player and also works very hard in defence. It's great to play alongside him. His goal on Sunday? He is so technically gifted that he can do that sort of thing... That goal was all part of the Berbatov mystery!"
How is day to day life at the Turbie with coach Ranieri?
"I have been working with him for two years now. We hope to reach our goals and we're on the right track. Mister Ranieri has a lot of experience and is always looking to improve and he never gives up, he has 'la grinta'. With him, every match is a war, as he likes to say... We are lucky enough to be in a great club with amazing ambition and a fantastic project. He has done a great job. We are improving every day. He gave me my chance at the start of 2014 after a tough start to the season when I had a knee injury. Now I feel good and I hope to play in the Champions League with Monaco. I came through the youth academy here, I train with great players every day, I'm lucky to be in a big club like AS Monaco, it's a privilege."
