The players were in for training at La Turbie at 10.30 this morning. Some did light recovery work and spent some time in the treatment room, while others took part in some fun passing and shooting practice. Aymen Abdennour, back from a near four-week lay-off after picking up an injury on international duty with Tunisia, played a full part: "I've been doing intensive physical work to strength my hamstring muscles for the last ten days or so. Physically I'm at 100% and ready to rejoin the squad and help the team. I've really missed being on the pitch."
The day's training finished with a small-sided game, six vs. six. The conscientious Monaco n°5 stayed behind for a little extra work in the weights room, where we caught up with him to get his thoughts on the side's recent performances: "We were on a good run with three wins in a row. Unfortunately that ended against Nice. We have to take a look at ourselves and keep working hard. We need a response against Zenit on Wednesday. I can't wait to play in the Champions League with AS Monaco and show what I'm really capable of, the “Aymen“ of Toulouse and the national team."
There will be one final training session at La Turbie from 10.00 on Monday before the squad fly out to Russia.
