There was a smaller group than usual at training on Thursday morning, as the AS Monaco squad - minus the internationals - were put through their paces. The session got under way with a lengthy warm-up led by Carlo Spignoli.
The players then took part in a series of mini-games focusing on crossing and finishing , an activity that always goes down well with the squad. "Finishing, shooting...we like that. And as there are fewer of us, the coaches are able to work more closely with us, more one-on-one", explained Valère Germain.
Ricardo Carvalho, who always seems to enjoy shooting practice, is keen to point out that there's no let-up in training during the international break. "We work hard, really push. At the end of the week we'll have a couple of days off, so we need to give our all during training to stay sharp", concludes the Portuguese defender.
