In addition to being the oldest outfield player ever to appear for AS Monaco, the spry 37 year old Ricardo Carvalho – who will turn 38 next May - also became the club’s oldest ever goalscorer against Ajaccio. "Ricky" has now scored goals in four different leagues, having already won titles in Portugal with Porto, England with Chelsea and Spain with Real Madrid. The Portuguese international defender had to wait until his 100th appearance to open his goalscoring account for AS Monaco. And by the end of this season, he’s set to rack up his 700th professional appearance! Extraordinary.
37 - Ricardo Carvalho is the oldest player to score his first goal in Ligue 1 in the last 25 years (37 yrs & 7 mths). Legend.— OptaJean (@OptaJean) 9 January 2016
