What are your feelings on being appointed Technical Director at AS Monaco?
I’m delighted to be joining this ambitious project at a big club in French and European football. This is a new stage in my career, and I think this is a fine opportunity and a role that’s going to suit me perfectly. I’m sure it will enable me to continue my progression.
What convinced you to join the Club?
First and foremost, my meeting with the Vice-President. We had some quality discussions and I really felt that he wanted to work with me. He talked a lot about this ambitious project that’s being put in place step by step. There’s a desire to work on the long term and I think it’s going to be a great challenge.
I’m also very pleased to be working with the coach Leonardo Jardim and this group of players full of quality. I’ve watched the coach’s work a lot from outside, and I must say I’ve been impressed. The team has a lot of potential and I already know several players, like Toulalan and Carvalho.
What are you aiming to bring to the club?
I’m coming in with a lot of humility and motivation for everyone to work together. The club already has a good structure and has developed well in the three years since it was in Ligue 2. But for my part, I’ll be trying to bring a little of my experience and my advice, to continue that growth and achieve the club’s objectives.
