The clip of the AS Monaco 'keepers training with an upturned barrier to hone their reflex saves has generated a massive online buzz! A host of European media outlets, including Marca, Mundo Deportivo, Eurosport, RMC and Gazzetta dello Sport, and the unconventional exercise has been described as revolutionary.
"I've actually been using this technique for many years, it's not new ", explains André Amitrano, AS Monaco's goalkeeping coach. And it's not only the 'keepers who use it, either. Valère Germain is among those to have tried the unusual method in the past to practise his finishing. And just last month, AS Monaco TV ran a feature on the technique:
