AS Monaco now has over 5 million fans on Facebook, taking the club's total following on the social networks to over 8 million.
At the end of August, the club's official page overtook Olympique de Marseille's to become the second most popular in the French league.
Created in 2011, AS Monaco's official page had just 30,000 fans in 2013 when the club was promoted back to Ligue 1.
The stunning growth on Facebook and the leading social networks, which has seen the club establish itself in Europe's top 20, has been made possible by the wide-ranging digital media policy adopted in recent years, with carefully selected, user-oriented content that is innovative (virtual reality shirt presentations, player contract extensions announced on Facebook Live), creative (digital partnerships with South American clubs), distinctive (AS Monaco eSport team launch) and international, with content available in multiple languages. THANK YOU!

"The objective was to unite, interest and build loyalty among the community of AS Monaco fans. In July 2014, we celebrated our millionth follower. Passing the five million mark just three and a half years later shows the strong level of adhesion around our digital values. Today, the challenge remains to support the club's development and, more than ever, to allow our community to follow the team and the player as closely as possible, in an informative, fun and interactive way."
