With eleven games played in this campaign, the Polish international is the highest scoring defender in the league. His third goal earned him a spot in L'Équipe's team of the week for matchday 11, and Kamil Glik is also among 31 players in Ligue 1 to have played every game since the opening day of the season. After picking up a suspension, however, that run will end against Nancy. He has conceded just eight fouls in Ligue 1, but 50% of those have seen him collect a yellow card (including three in the first ten games)!
Interceptions, possession, precision...
But that's not all. Kamil Glik has also made more interceptions than any other Monegasque player since the start of the league campaign (23), ahead of Tiemoué Bakayoko (21), Jemerson (19) and Fabinho (17). And he has had the second highest number of touches (555), behind Fabinho (640). In the crucial areas, he has successfully made 80% of his attempted defensive clearances in eleven Ligue 1 games. Another stat that demonstrates his superb start to the season is his strike rate, with seven of his eight shots on goal finding the target and four resulting in goals (including the Nwakaeme's own goal in the win over SCO, in which Glik was directly involved). Not forgetting his pearler against Leverkusen, which ESPRIT MONACO have voted their favourite goal of the season so far. Glik, Glik, Glik!
