Joao Moutinho, the leading assists provider in Ligue 1, will be part of the Portugal side battling it out with Russia for a direct qualifying place at the World Cup. Portugal take on Israel and Luxembourg on 11 and 15 October. They are currently one point behind Russia in the standings.
On the same days, Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez will be playing for Colombia against Chile and Paraguay. They need just one point to be sure of their place in Brazil next summer.
Les Bleus need to confirm place in the play-offs
R&B captain Eric Abidal has been called up by coach Didier Deschamps. He may earn his 65th and 66 caps in the friendly against Australia on Friday, 11 October, and in the World Cup qualifier against Finland (15 October).
Geoffrey Kondogbia has been named in the France U21 side to play Armenia and Iceland on 10 and 14 October. Anthony Martial will join the midfielder on duty with Bleuets.
No pressure for Obbadi and Romero
Sticking with the U21 age group, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco will be looking to qualify Belgium for Euro 2015. The Belgians travel to Northern Ireland on 11 October, before entertaining Italy on 14 October.
Mounir Obbadi has been called up for Morocco's friendly match against South Africa on 11 October.
And finally, goalkeepers Danijel Subasic and Sergio Romero will both be busy with Croatia and Argentina, respectively, on 11 and 15 October, in World Cup qualifiers. Croatia are five points behind Belgian and will almost certainly have to settle for a place in the playoffs, while Romero's Argentina are already qualified.
