There wasn't much in it, but Les Asémistes recorded a 1-0 victory and, on the back of their big win over Béziers, they have moved into top spot in Group C of the CFA!
With Hyères enjoying a bye this weekend, the win over Pontet means first place on the ladder for Les Rouge et Blanc no matter happens in the remaining Week 5 matches. It was Quentin Ngakoutou's lone strike in the 36th minute that proved enough against a home side that finished the match with just nine men. It was Ngakoutou's third goal in a week after his brace against Béziers. Tafsir Cherif had the chance to add a second goal from the penalty spot but he was unable to convert.
11 France U19 champions on the pitch
Le Pontet hit the woodwork twice and ASM know the result was the most important thing. The new leaders will host Cannes on 21 September for a mouthwatering derby. Marc-Aurèle Caillard was the only member of the professional squad in the side against Le Pontet and there were no less than 11 players from last season's National U19 champions.
