Born in Friboug, Switzerland, the Dutch international arrives from Feyenoord where he spent his entire youth career and made his professional debut. Capable of playing in central defence or at left-back, Terence Kongolo won the Dutch club with his trainer club in 2016, before helping Feyenoord to the league title last spring. A regular fixture for the Netherlands at youth level, Kongolo joined the senior side in May 2014 and was part of the Louis Van Gaal-managed squad that claimed third place in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Terence Kongolo: "I'm delighted to sign for AS Monaco. After my experience at the club where I broke through, this is going to be an exciting new challenge at a prestigious and ambitious club. I'm looking forward to meeting the staff, my new teammates and doing everything I can on the pitch to help out the squad."
Vadim Vasilyev, Vice-President & CEO: "We're delighted to welcome Terence Kongolo to AS Monaco. He is a battle-hardened young player who has already spent several seasons at the highest level with Feyenoord Rotterdam, where he has won several trophies and made numerous appearances in European competition. We have a lot of belief in his potential and are convinced he will find the right conditions at AC Monaco to grow and develop."
