Vadim Vasilyev was named "NuCalm/fcbusiness European CEO of the Year" in London on Thursday evening, in recognition of AS Monaco's outstanding 2016/2017 season, which included the French league title and a run to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Aaron Gourley, Editor of fcbusiness magazine: "The achievements of AS Monaco during the 2016/2017 season are nothing short of outstanding. Mr Vasilyev winning this award is a reflection of his leadership. The NuCalm/fcbusiness European CEO of the Year is one of the most highly contested prizes and Vadim Vasilyev was the clear choice in a category which included the likes of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (Bayern Munich), Edwin van der Sar (Ajax), Umberto Gandini (AS Roma) and Florentino Perez Rodriguez (Real Madrid). I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate him and AS Monaco on this achievement and wish them future success."
Vadim Vasilyev: "I'm very proud to have been picked from a list of highly prestigious CEOs. This prize is a reward for the outstanding sporting year last season, with the French title and the Champions League semi-final. It is also recognition for all the work we have been doing at the club for several years, which has allowed AS Monaco to take great strides forward. We will continue in the same vein and hopefully the club will go on to even more success in the future."
