Formed by AS Monaco, where he was deputy to Jean-Luc Ettori with prominence for the 1982 French title, André Amitrano then played for OGC Nice and AS Cannes. After a career built exclusively on the Riviera for 14 seasons (290 professional games), it was in the same region that the Mers-el-Kebir native embraced the role of goalkeeper coach in teams like Valence, Guingamp and Rennes before returning to AS Monaco in 2009. After experiencing the relegation hell in 2011, "Dédé" did not leave the Monegasque ship. Working with Marco Simone, Claurio Ranieri and Leonardo Jardim, he has actively participated in the rise of Danijel Subasic since the Croatian arrived at the club in 2012.
