Biography

At the end of a rich career as a footballer which saw him play more than 500 professional matches, including 38 caps for his country, including the 1998 World Cup in France, Philippe Clement started working in coaching in 2011. Appointed in the summer of 2017 as head coach of Waasland-Beveren, where he quickly distinguished himself in the Jupiler Pro League, he was quickly spotted and recruited by KRC Genk, a club with whom he managed to win the Belgian title, just 18 months after his arrival. The talented managed then joined Club Brugge the following summer, where he developed many young talents before the eyes of Europe, especially in the Champions League. He won the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Jupiler Pro League in quick succession, was twice voted best coach in the championship and also won a Belgian Supercup.
