Cesc Fàbregas : "A style of play that unites the players"
Cesc Fàbregas answered questions from the media on the eve of facing Stade de Reims in the Round of 64 of the Coupe de France. Excerpts.
When a new coach arrives at a club, everything starts fresh and all players have a new hand to play. This week, the intensity was strong and everyone's behavior was very good. Now we will see tomorrow who will play and what ideas the coach will want to put in place on the pitch.
The coach comes from the Barcelona school, which I know well. He has a philosophy, but he is also a coach who adapts to his players and opponents. He explains very well why one must do certain things. Now it's up to us to apply this on the pitch.

We have to thank Leonardo Jardim for everything he did at AS Monaco and for us as players. Now it's over, football is like that. Today, Robert Moreno heads the team and we are at his service. The methodology is different, and a lot will change, but the team is ready for this challenge.
We need time for everything to fall into place, but we also need results because this is the most important thing. The goal is always to win by playing well, it's to have a style of play that unites the players. It may take a little time, but it is up to us to quickly understand what the coach wants, to put in place to make it happen as quickly as possible.

I talk a lot with my friends who still play in the Spanish national team, all of them said good things about the coach's methods and his communication, which aims to make it easier to assimilate information. Like I said it will take a bit of time, but I think it's good for us as players, especially the younger players.
I am familiar with his methodology, it is similar to what I was used to at FC Barcelona in the past. Now, what matters is to work well, especially physically, because the coach wants players who run a lot. He gives everyone a chance, and the best will play.

I have learned a lot from great coaches during my career. Without being a coach, I was able to analyze and observe different methodologies. Today video is a very important tool for a team, for the coach, for the players, for learning. The modern player works a lot on tactics through video, this allows the coach to give a very clear and visible idea to his players.
