The veil is lifted

The draw for the group stage of the Champions League took place this Thursday in Monaco. Here are the opponents of the Red & Whites.

ATLETICO MADRID (ESP)

Last season, the Colchoneros drew against Chelsea and finished third in their group, which also included Roma. They went on to win the Europa League over Marseille.

2018/2019 Season: Atletico Madrid recorded the arrival of former Red & Whites Thomas Lemar. The Colchoneros won the European Supercup against Real Madrid (4-2, a.p). Also, a win and a draw to start the league season. The UCL final will be played in their hope.

DORTMUND (ALL)

Qualified for 4th place in the Bundesliga, the Germans won the competition in the 1996-1997 season. Dortmund had played AS Monaco in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League in 2016/2017. The Red & Whites had won with a pair of Kylian Mbappé goals and had qualified for the semifinals. AS Monaco was the first French team to qualify for the semi-finals of the Champions League since 2010.

FC BRUGES (BEL)

FC Bruges were crowned Belgian Champion last season, which allowed them to qualify directly for the Champions League. Their best performance in this competition goes back to the 1977/1978 season when the Belgian club was finalist. AS Monaco faced off against Brugge FC in the 1988/89 season.
