Aleksandr Golovin extends his contract
AS Monaco are pleased to announce the extension of 26-year-old midfielder Aleksandr Golovin's contract for a further two seasons. The Russian international is now linked with the Principality club until 2026.

The number 17 is currently enjoying one of his best seasons in Rouge et Blanc, and is a key member of Philippe Clement’s squad.

Involved in 12 goals in Ligue 1 this season

With 6 goals and 6 assists (7 in all competitions) in 24 matches in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, the midfielder has made a significant contribution to Monaco’s progress, with the team currently third in the French Ligue 1 after 25 matches.

Apart from the first Ligue 1 match in Strasbourg (2-1) on 6 August, for which he was suspended, Aleksandr Golovin has played in all of AS Monaco’s official matches this season.

Goal of the month for January

The CSKA Moscow-trained player has been particularly in good form since the return of the competition in December (3 goals, 3 assists) and was decisive in the 3-1 win over Paris SG. He scored the only goal in Monaco’s victory over Stade Brestois on 1 January 2023, a superb technical move followed by an unstoppable shot, which was voted Ligue 1 Uber Eats’ goal of the month for January.

The club’s longest-serving player

Having arrived in Monaco in the summer of 2018 following a World Cup in which he reached the quarterfinals with Russia (1 goal, 2 assists), Aleksandr Golovin had previously played four seasons with CSKA Moscow.

After 113 matches with the Moscow outfit (13 goals, 11 assists), and a Russian league title in 2016, the midfielder joined the Principality. Aleksandr Golovin has now made 166 appearances for AS Monaco (23 goals, 32 assists) and is currently the club’s longest-serving player.
