Ben Yedder in AS Monaco's all-time Top 10 scorers in Ligue 1

Ben Yedder in AS Monaco's all-time Top 10 scorers in Ligue 1
Scorer of his 13th goal of the season in the league last Sunday against Montpellier, the AS Monaco captain has entered the ranks of the very best goalscorers in the history of the Club -- here's the stats to prove it:

Every day, he’s becoming a little more of a legend! Already having been honored for playing  his 100th match with AS Monaco, against Red Star in the Coupe de France in December, where marked the occasion with a double (2-0 success), Wissam Ben Yedder has now passed another milestone. Again decisive this weekend in Ligue 1 against Montpellier, the Rouge et Blanc captain scored his 13th league goal this season, and his 59th in total while wearing La Diagonale (as well as 23 assists, in 104 appearances) . It was another superb performance, one which has brought him into a very select group.

The third-fastest to reach 50 goals

The 11th player to reach 50 goals for the Principality club in the top flight, in his 83rd match with AS Monaco against Clermont (4-0 win) – only Delio Onnis (58 appearances) and Radamel Falcao (72) took fewer matches to reach this milestone, according to Opta. Captain’ Wiss is now one of the Top 10 scorers in the history of AS Monaco in the league, having scored his 51st goal with a header. He thus joins the Brazilian Sonny Anderson and the champion of France in 1961, Serge Roy, in level 10th place in the ranking of the best Monegasque scorers.

Eleven goals behind Radamel Falcao in Ligue 1

Currently, our number 10 is only one goal behind David Trezeguet in Ligue 1 (52), and just 11 behind Radamel Falcao (65), who sits in third place in this prestigious ranking. In all competitions combined, Wissam Ben Yedder now has 59 goals, which ranks 13th in the history of the Club, behind legends like Ludovic Giuly, Youri Djorkaeff, George Weah or of course Delio Onnis (223), the team’s greatest scorer.

I think Wissam will thrive a lot in the style of football we want to play, which is very attacking, with a lot of players in the final third. Wissam has very great qualities, he understands the game perfectly, he knows when to pick up the ball and when to make runs.

Decisive every 80 minutes

This season, with a goal every 99 minutes in Ligue 1 (13 in 21 matches, with 1,285 minutes played), the Monegasque captain is the striker with the best goals to minutes ratio in the top flight. If we add the three assists he has recorded, he has been decisive every 80 minutes in the league. Impressive figures, which illustrate the mark he has made since joining AS Monaco.

In addition to being one of the best penalty takers in the Big 5 leagues (91% conversion with the Rouge et Blanc) and one of the most impactful players as a substitute (16 goals off the bench in Ligue 1) . Since hitting the 100 career goals mark in Ligue 1 last May, he hasn’t stopped.

Here’s hoping that he will continue to climb the ranking of Monegasque scorers in the coming months! Bravo Wiss’!

Rise. Risk. Repeat.
