Islam Slimani named MVP of the win over Montpellier

Islam Slimani named MVP of the win over Montpellier
The Red and White supporters voted en masse on the AS Monaco App after the win against Montpellier on Friday (1-0). As he had been against Amiens a week earlier, Islam Slimani was elected MVP.

After his decisive goal at the Stade de la Licorne, Islam Slimani once again gave his team a victory in Friday’s reception of MHSC at the Stade Louis-II. With a powerful shot in the 52nd minute from a corner, he beat the goalkeeper Dimitry Bertaud and scored the only goal of the match. The Algerian has been involved in 17 of the 41 goals scored by AS Monaco this season. He has scored nine times and added eight assists in 2019-2020, making his return to the top 10 scorers in the championship.

With 65% of the votes, he is your man of the match for this 25th matchday of Ligue 1. Islam Slimani finished ahead of Aleksandr Golovin (8%) and Ruben Aguilar (8%) in this match. This is the fourth time that the attacker has been elected MVP on the AS Monaco App. Benjamin Lecomte is still in first place with eight wins.
