He scored his fourth goal of the season! After receiving a cross from Aleksandr Golovin, Krépin Diatta popped up at close range to score with his chest. He thus put his teammates in an ideal situation to win against Lorient by the score of 3-1. It was a controlled and successful match which can only satisfy him a week before the team’s trip to Lens, a direct competitor for the podium.
Hello Krepin. Thing went better this evening than in previous weeks…
Today, I think we found our aggressiveness again, it is the hallmark of our team. This is what has been missing in recent weeks. Once again we got off to a good start and we were focused from start to finish. I think that’s what made the difference in this match. Individually, we talked a lot this week because we were not happy with the results last week. We were keen to put pressure on the teams ahaed of us, and so we regretted not getting three points.
We spoke with each other and today everyone played well until the end of the match. We have seen again that if we apply intensity, we can contain our opponents. We will have to keep doing that in the next matches, it will not be easy because we will be playing direct competitors. It’s up to us to be focused, to give it our all and I’m sure we’ll be rewarded.

Exactly. We shouldn’t skip over today, it does us good to take the three points, but this match will be very, very important for us. We had to increase our confidence today to be able to prepare well for this match against Lens. With their defeat yesterday, it was even more essential to win today to get closer to them, and that’s what we did.
They are two points ahead and we know what we have to do. It will be a hard-fought game because both teams want it. We know they’re a great, difficult team to play against but we also have a good squad. We will have to focus on ourselves and do things together. If we play as we should, I think there is a way to achieve something there. Everything will depend on us.

The ball comes quickly to me. At first I wanted to head it in, only for the defender to deflect the ball. It changed the trajectory and I had no choice but to put it on my chest. Luckily for me, it went through the arms of Vito Mannone.

A word on Kevin’s fine performance…
Kevin has always been an important player for us. We have him back at the right time in this final sprint. This season has been more difficult for him since he has suffered from injuries. Unfortunately, this is not what we want, and I actually experienced this last season. He is coming back well and had a good game. We are counting on him and when we see him this way, he can bring us a lot of satisfaction come the end of the season.
