A rematch of the 1980 final
This will be a major reunion between the two teams, who have already faced each other twice in the history of the Coupe de France. The first encounter was in the 1980 final, where Jean Petit’s teammates secured a 3-1 victory, giving the Principality club its third title in the competition. The second meeting was a two-legged quarter-final tie in the 1988-1989 edition, with Monaco ultimately prevailing (1-2; 3-3).
