Originally from Abidjan in Côte d'Ivoire, Oumar Konaté, 18 since 5 May, joins the Rouge & Blanc from Sol FC d'Abobo, his club of origin. He made several appearances for the first team in Côte d'Ivoire's top flight, scoring once. A striker capable of playing on the flanks, Oumar Konaté is also an U20 international with Côte d'Ivoire. In 2024, alongside Valy Konaté, he distinguished himself at the Maurice-Revello Tournament by providing an assist against the French team and then scoring a goal against Mexico. In doing so, he contributed to Côte d'Ivoire's remarkable run to the final of the competition against Ukraine. This season, Oumar Konaté will be playing with the Elite Group under Djimi Traoré, a team he knows well. Last February, during a trial, he had already distinguished himself in the colours of the Rouge & Blanc, scoring a goal in the 2-0 victory over Girondins de Bordeaux.
