Born in Bratislava (Slovakia), Lukas Hradecký started out at TPS Turku, in Finland, the country where he grew up. He then made his professional debut at Esbjerg (Denmark) in 2009, before joining Brøndby in 2013 and keeping goal there for 2 seasons. In 2015, he settled in Germany, at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he won the German Cup (2018), before joining Bayer Leverkusen. Reigning German runner-up and winner of the 2024 German Super Cup, he was one of the architects of Bayer's historic 2023-2024 season, with a cup and league double without losing a single match in the Bundesliga. Captain of the "Werkself" since 2021, he was voted best goalkeeper in the league in 2024 and player of the season in his club four times: 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2023. During his years in Germany - where he holds the record for the number of appearances (323) and the number of "clean sheets" (92) for a foreign goalkeeper -, Lukas also acquired solid experience on the European scene with no less than 55 matches to his name in the Champions League and the Europa League.
