He too should quickly reach the mark of 100 matches in Rouge et Blanc! With 99 matches played for AS Monaco, Caio Henrique will indeed very soon join the circle of centenarians in which he can also find the likes of Guillermo Maripán and Youssouf Fofana. And it may even happen Sunday in Lille. Already with five assists this season, the Brazilian left back is making an excellent start to the season and has been key to the current good run of the Monegasques. It was with a certain desire to pursue that goal with which he presented himself at a press conference.
Third-most assists in Ligue 1
I am obviously very happy and very satisfied with these statistics. Since I started here, I have always had this desire to help the team. It is a form of reward for all of my work being done each week. I had 12 assists last season, and I have a goal in the back of my mind to surpass that. Being behind only Neymar and Messi, who are two attacking players, is even more rewarding since they have more of the ball and are closer to the goal.

The progress of the team defensively
I think the team has made progress in this area. It is true that we’ve conceded goals, especially against Lens and against Trabzonspor, but these results did not reflect the way we played. Overall, we have progressed and we must continue to do lots of work on the defensive side of our game.
Your progress since your arrival
In particular, I was able to improve at set pieces compared to last season. I work a lot on this part of my game and try to bring danger to each of them. I also think I have improved in the defensive side of my play.

The differences between a defense with four or five at the back
When we play with four at the back, I have a more defensive role, whereas in a system with five defenders, I have more freedom to attack since the three central defenders can cover my runs. I am comfortable in both systems, and it is up to the coach to decide which tactical scheme is the most appropriate.
The match against Lille
We expect a difficult match because Lille are a very good team with a very good squad. They are in good form (three wins in their last four games). They also have fast attacking players who can play on the counter. It’s up to us to hurt them when situations present themselves to us.
We need to pick up points. If we go there with a good state of mind and a desire to go for the victory, we will have a good chance of winning. We will have to be solid, united, and aggressive.
A potential 100th match at AS Monaco
I am very happy to have the chance to play in what could be my 100th match for the Club Sunday because AS Monaco is a great club. It’s a dream come true, and if we can win, it would be even better. I think my best memory is the epic run in the Coupe de France during the 2020-2021 season where we were not far from winning the competition, as we reached the final against PSG (0-2).
The Brazilian national team and the World Cup
It’s the coach’s choice and I respect it. Wearing the Brazil jersey is always in the back of my mind. The World Cup is fast approaching and I know it will be difficult. I have to continue as I am currently playing with AS Monaco to be ready if necessary. I’m okay with that. There is also a possibility to play for with the Spanish national team.
