Folarin Balogun: “We are grateful for the support of the fans”
Scorer of the second goal for the Principality club, the Monaco striker stopped in the mixed zone to discuss this big match against Paris Saint-Germain.

He scored a goal which gave his side hope. Found on a long ball by Takumi Minamino on the edge of the offside trap, Folarin Balogun did not tremble and reduced the score to 4-2 at the start of the last quarter of an hour. His fourth goal of the season unfortunately proved insufficient as the Rouge et Blanc ended up losing to PSG. Present in the mixed zone, the Monegasque striker expressed his disappointment in the result.  🎙

I think when you lose 5-2 the feeling is never very positive. We created several chances, especially in the first half. Paris is a great team and we made mistakes which we paid for. I don't think they were much stronger than us, they were just more clinical today

Good evening Folarin. What is your feeling after this match?

I think when you lose 5-2 the feeling is never very positive. We created several chances, especially in the first half. Paris is a great team and we made mistakes which we paid for. I don’t think they were much stronger than us, they were just more clinical today. During the 90 minutes, there were periods of the match where we dominated, and it was the same for them.

You scored for the fourth time this season. Tell us about your goal and your integration into the team,,.

I joined a new team this summer. I’m still getting to know my teammates, it’s not necessarily easy with the different international breaks. So it’s taking little longer. But I like playing in this team. Today we did good things at times, but at the same time, if you make mistakes against this type of team, you are punished.

How can you progress collectively in the next matches?

There are many things that can be improved. We are going to return to Monaco and will analyze this match in order to see the areas for progress. I am sure that we will put this into practice for the next match against Montpellier, next Sunday.

Finally, a word on the Monegasque away end which was once again full?

It’s an incredible feeling to know the number of Monegasque supporters who come to the away ends each time. We heard them and even at the end, they continued to encourage us. We are grateful for their support.

Rise. Risk. Repeat.
