Three more points to make it 33! After recording their tenth victory in Ligue 1 on their trip to Toulouse on Wednesday (1-2), the Rouge et Blanc have finished the first half of the league season in third place, having picked up 1.94 points par match. It’s a very honorable return, even if AS Monaco can still improve in many aspects. This is what coach Adi Hütter and the Club’s CEO, Thiago Scuro, wanted to emphasize after the match. 🎙

Good evening coach. How do you feel after this win?

I am satisfied, because it is a very important victory for us tonight against Toulouse, especially after the defeat suffered at home against Lyon. We were very disappointed with this result, but today I am happy with the way the team played and reacted especially, after conceding a goal very early.

We really had a good first half, even if the red card then changed things. Toulouse had more possession, but not a lot of big chances in the end. We defended very well to get these three points.

Your players showed a lot of character, as they have in general in this first part of the season…

Indeed, this is not the first time that we have reacted in this way after conceding the first goal, to be able to turn the match around. The character we showed today, the way we fought despite Golovin’s mistake, which he himself admitted in the locker room, is really positive.

The fact that we have picked up 14 points after going behind proves that we have the ability to react. It’s a good way to end the year, and of course we wish all our supporters a very Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas!🎄

Good evening Thiago. What’s the feeling after this victory against Toulouse?

Winning is always important, even more so after losing at the Stade Louis-II against Olympique Lyonnais. I think this match shows the character this group has. Despite everything, we had to fight hard in this scenario this evening. There will obviously be areas to improve on in the second part of the season, but we end the first on a good note.

What assessment do you draw from the first part of the season more generally?

We are currently in the Top 3, which is our main goal this season. We have showed a lot of very positive things during the first 17 rounds. But we can definitely do better in certain areas. The idea is to take advantage of the winter break to recover, regain strength, but also take the time to work on these details to improve.

We know that the second half of the season is often very demanding and more stressful for all clubs, which have different goals. We must therefore be vigilant on every aspect, to achieve our goals.

A final word about our supporters, who were there in numbers in Toulouse!
