Jordan Semedo Varela joins Cercle Brugge on loan
AS Monaco announces the loan of left back Jordan Semedo Varela to Cercle Brugge for the 2023-2024 season.

Having joined the Club in the summer of 2019, Jordan Semedo Varela completed his training at La Diagonale, showing consistency in his progress, both in Rouge et Blanc and in the jersey of the French team in the youth categories.

A professional debut against Sevilla

A regular at U-19 and U-20 for Les Bleus, his work and effort has notably earned him a first professional contract with AS Monaco, having signed in August 2022.

On the strength of this new status, Jordan Semedo Varela continued his progress by establishing himself this season as a member of the Elite Group, under the leadership of Damien Perrinelle, and by playing his first minutes with the first team in a friendly against FC Sevilla last December.

A regular with France at the U-20 World Cup

A regular for the French U-20s since November, Jordan Semedo Varela represented his country in Argentina at the last U20 World Cup (May 20 – June 11, 2023) with his Monegasque teammates Lienard, Magassa and Efekele. It was a competition in which the left back featured in all three matches.

His loan for the 2023-24 season to Cercle Brugge (Belgium) is an opportunity to continue his development and join the project of the Rouge et Blanc‘s sister club, which has just completed the season in sixth place in the Jupiler Pro League, its best finish since 2008.

AS Monaco wish him every success in this new challenge.
