Born on January 1, 2004 in Bignona, Senegal, Lamine Camara completed his entire training in his native country. His career took him to AS Génération Foot in 2019. Thanks to his good performances, he played in the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in January 2023 and played a key role in Senegal's success. Shortly thereafter, the midfielder won the U20 Africa Cup of Nations against Gambia (2-0). A starter in each match, he scored two goals and provided two assists, which earned him the title of best player in the competition. In February 2023, Lamine joined FC Metz in Ligue 2, with whom he finished second in the league and gained access to Ligue 1. During the 2023-2024 season, he distinguished himself as a "box-to-box" player, and as an essential cog in FC Metz with 33 matches played (5 assists, 2 goals). He was thus awarded the title of "pépite of the season", a distinction awarded by Ligue 1 and based on public voting. He then participated in AFCON in Ivory Coast with the senior team. Starting three times in four matches, he distinguished himself from the first match against Gambia, scoring twice for the Lions of Teranga. He finally joined AS Monaco at the end of July 2024.
