Once again in the eleven, the Rouge et Blanc number 5 spoke at a post-match press conference, happy to leave Troyes with three points.

The team now have their first win of the season in Ligue 1: victorious over Troyes at the Stade de l’Aube, 2-1, thanks to a double from Sofiane Diop, AS Monaco took all three points for the first time this season in the league. It’s a result that allows them to regain confidence before being able to rest during the international break, after already having played eight matches. Recently selected for the French U-21s, Benoît Badiashile will not be able to take advantage of this break. Before join his countrymen on international duty, the young central defender spoke at a post-match press conference.

We played with the same desire and concentration as against Shakhtar even though we knew it was going to be more challenging because fatigue was going to work against us. We showed great collective strength by scoring the second goal which allowed us to win this match and take all three points. This is what we will remember from today.

How do you feel after this victory?

We played with the same desire and concentration as against Shakhtar even though we knew it was going to be more challenging because fatigue was going to work against us. We showed great collective strength by scoring the second goal which allowed us to win this match and take all three points. This is what we will remember from today.

Are defensive set pieces a point upon which to improve for the team?

It was one of our strengths last season. We are working hard in training to improve on them. Hopefully things will go better for the rest of the season.

Will the goal now be to have more control at the end of the match?

Yes exactly. That was our strength at the end of last season when we would often have fairly calm end to the matches. We must rediscover this solidarity and this defensive strength.

Will this match serve to jump start your season?

The start of the season has been challenging for us. We had some bad luck in the first few matches, but today that turned in our favor. I hope that will continue throughout this season.
