It’s been an eventful week for Benoît Badiashile. Called up Thursday for the first time to the French team, Benoît Badiashile confirmed his new status this Sunday in Reims over the course of a victory for his team (3-0). He spoke in the mixed zone, along with Maghnes Akliouche, starting for the first time in his career in Ligue 1. The two players, both products of La Diagonale, were thus happy with a third win in as many matches in the French top flight.
Hello Benoit. The team knew how to be patient. Was that the key this afternoon?
Sure. The coach told us to be patient because we knew they were going to be difficult to play against, even with ten men. But we were able to keep a measure of patience and it paid off because we managed to score a goal which freed us up. We will take advantage of this victory and return happy to Monaco with the three points in our pocket.
A word on Wissam and Taki, scorers of their first goals in Ligue 1 this season?
We have always had confidence in our strikers. We know that Wissam is a great striker, he showed it again today with the goal he scored. For Taki, we are all very happy for him. I think it will free him up and we will see the best of him in the next games.
He needed time to adapt, whether to the team’s game or to the league. Today, we saw that he had all the qualities necessary to help us and I hope it can continue like this. He is an intelligent player, technical and able to keep the ball. He will be very important for us.

It is a victory which also confirms the team’s good momentum in the league.
It’s exactly that. We wanted continuity, that’s the case today because we’re continuing our run in Ligue 1, it’s perfect. In the last few matches, we have been able to string together victories, so there is progress. We are very happy and we hope that after the break, it will continue like this. We try to be as consistent as possible and to show consistency. That’s what we’re trying to work on.
Hello Magnes. How do you feel after a first start in Ligue 1?
I am very happy. We leave Reims with the three points, it’s a very good thing. I also gained experience with my first start. I hope this can continue. It’s up to me to work hard and give back the confidence to the coach that he gives me every day in training or during matches.
How have you experienced these last few months with the squad?
My first match with the pros was against Quevilly and my coming on at the Parc des Princes against the best players in the world, these were good experiences that have helped me. All of this can only do good for me but we must continue like this because it is not a culmination. This is only the beginning and I must continue in this direction. For the next few weeks, I still have a goal of continuing to progress and show what I am able to bring to the team.
