Wissam Ben Yedder and Krépin Diatta's reactions

Wissam Ben Yedder and Krépin Diatta's reactions
Obviously disappointed after a draw away to Ferencváros (1-1), Wissam Ben Yedder and Krépin Diatta spoke to the media. Extracts.

How frustrating! While dominant, Philippe Clement’s men were forced to share the points Thursday evening at the Groupama Aréna (1-1). It was a draw which has direct consequences: the Rouge et Blanc can no longer finish first in Group H. Despite everything, they keep their destiny in their hands before a visit from Red Star next Thursday (6:45 p.m.). After the game captain Wissam Ben Yedder and winger Krépin Diatta gave their impressions of the match.

Wissam good evening, what is your analysis of the match?

It’s a shame, because until we conceded, we were good. We had a very good result here, but we must not forget that we still have our destiny in our hands!

I like these sorts of goals, where I cut in at the first post to try to put the ball past the second. It was a very nice goal, I'm happy. It's almost the same as the one Ludovic Giuly scored in 2004 against Real Madrid
Wissam Ben YedderAbout his finish for the goal

Precisely, the meeting against Red Star next week is worth its weight in gold…

Yes, we will have to seal qualification at home and we will do everything for it. We will need the supporters, they will push us and that will be important for us!

Tell us about your exceptional goal…

I like these sorts of goals, where I cut in at the first post to try to put the ball past the second. It was a very nice goal, I’m happy. It’s almost the same as the one Ludovic Giuly scored in 2004 against Real, I was young at that time (smile). I am happy to have succeeded in reproducing this sort of finish.

Krépin Diatta’s reaction

Krépin good evening, what did you think of this draw?

It’s a shame, I think we bossed the game, and we conceded the equalizer by a small margin. But we must also be positive and not forget that this point obtained allows us to be in second after tonight. We have our destiny in our hands, and we will absolutely have to win on Thursday.

Everything is to be played for next week so…

Yes exactly! We are frustrated not to have taken all three points tonight which could have allowed us to finish in first place. But that’s in the past and we must already be looking ahead to next Thursday’s decisive match against Belgrade.

I tried to do my best, even if it was not easy. We have to ignore the atmosphere, be focused on the match and do what the coach asks of us, that's all.
Krépin Diatta About the atmosphere against Ferencváros

On a personal note, how did you feel during the match?

We quickly had to get into the intensity of the match, in a big atmosphere. I tried to do my best, even if it was not easy. We have to ignore the atmosphere, be focused on the match and do what the coach asks of us, that’s all.
