Aurélien Tchouameni is in SofaScore's Team of the Week

Aurélien Tchouameni is in SofaScore's Team of the Week
Following an impressive match in midfield against Clermont (a 4-0 win), AS Monaco's number 8 takes his place in the SofaScore team of the week, along with Caio Henrique and Wissam Ben Yedder.

The honors don’t stop coming! After appearing in Team of the Week as part of FIFA’s Ultimate Team 22 last week, Aurélien Tchouameni continues to excel. Recently named as the best at ball recovery in the world in 2021 by SofaScore and also a part of the statistic website’s U21 team of the year, the French international (7 caps) is in stellar form at the moment. He demonstrated it once again in a big win against Clermont (4-0), by delivering yet another masterclass.

85% of his duels won!

It was a performance which earned him a place in the team of the round in Ligue 1, again according to Sofascore, which combines the stats of all the players in the top flight and releases each week an eleven, with the best scores awarded by position. For his performance against the Auvergnae side, the Monegasque number 8 recorded a score of 8.2 out of 10. And for good reason, as he won 18 duels out of 22, or 82%, and 100% of his aerial duels (5/5).

A near-record number of recoveries made

He also made 14 ball recoveries, his second-best career performance after that against Lille year, on March 14 (15), and also made three interceptions. He also made four successful tackles, provinghis talent this Sunday in midfield. But he didn’t just limit the attacks of Pascal Gastien’s side. Aurélien Tchouameni was involved offensively. He was succesful with five of his six dribbles against Clermont, while also creating two shots chances.

A trio of top performances!

It was  ths a complete match, which would have earned him match MVP of the match, if his captain Wissam Ben Yedder had not decided to turn in the kind of display which he had. With a brace and an assist in 45 minutes on the field, our captain also earned his place in Sofascore’s Team of the Week  with an exceptional score of 9.2, as did Caio Henrique, scorer of his first goal for AS Monaco, having added an assist for Wiss’ first goal (8.6). It was therefore an impressive display for Philippe Clement’s team all around!

Bravo to them, and bravo Aurélien!
