Djibril Sidibé: "Lots of positive points"
After a draw away to Nice (2-2), this Sunday during as part of the sixth round of Ligue 1, Djibril Sidibé spoke at a press conference.

What an exciting derby this Sunday at the Allianz Riviera! Playing as part of the sixth round in Ligue 1, the Niçois and Monegasques finished on level terms (2-2). It was a spectacular match upon which Djibril Sidibé reflected in a post-match press conference. For the Rouge et Blanc defender, there were many positives to take away from this match.

We will continue to work. Looking at the table, this is not what we expected and we are aware that to succeed in this league it will be necessary to put a winning run together. We will recover quickly to try to win against Saint-Etienne on Wednesday.

Djibril, what do you take away from this match?

It’s a derby that we really wanted to win to start a good run of form. The context was not easy with the heat and a quality opponent. We are not satisfied with the result but looking at how we played, there are a lot of positive points. Nice hadn’t conceded a single goal before this match. We could have lost late on in the match, but we could also have won.

Does this good overall performance give you confidence?

We will continue to work. Looking at the table, this is not what we expected and we are aware that to succeed in this league it will be necessary to put a winning run together. We will recover quickly to try to win against Saint-Etienne on Wednesday.

What did you think of your personal performance after returning from injury?

I try to bring my best to the team every time the coach calls on me. I had the chance to start my career early and play some very high level matches, but I have to prove myself every day and bring my experience and my fighting spirit. But we need everyone, we are a collective. This is what made us strong last season and it is what must still be our hallmark.

Rise. Risk. Repeat.
