He’s been a revelation since the start of the year! After making his professional debut against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League in November (in a 4-1 win), Eliesse Ben Seghir has rocketed to stardom. He continued to impress by scoring a doubel on his league debut, helping the Rouge et Blanc to a win in Auxerre (3-2).
In the footsteps of greats
These two goals made the rounds on social media, in particular thanks to his shot curled into the opposite corner, but this did not stop the young attacking midfielder trained at the Academy. A few days later, after being voted MVP of the trip to Burguyndy, the 17-year-old appeared in l’Équipe‘s team of the round after AS Monaco’s defeat of Brest (1-0).
A thorn in AJ Auxerre’s side
In form, the former player of Damien Perrinelle’s Elite Group thus made five starts in a row, including the big match at the Vélodrome against OM (1-1). Then, in the reverse fixture against AJ Auxerre, he decided to strike again, with a curling shot past the near post. The result? Another win for the Rouge et Blanc at home (3-2), and a third goal already as a professional for Eliesse in just eight appearances, only five of which were in the starting lineup.

The Academy is again top!
In addition to his accuracy in the final third, the finalist of the last play-offs of the U19 national championship impresses with his workrate in midfield. This is evidenced by his very solid performance against Stade Brestois (9 duels won, 2 ball recoveries, 1 interception, 1 successful tackle).
He is full of energy, which has therefore made him the Young Player of the Month in Ligue 1, underscoring his acclaim by the followers of the French top flight. It’s just reward for him and for the work being done by tghe Academy, which continues to prove the quality of its work in recent years. Bravo Eliesse and DAGHE! 🇲🇨#MadeInLaDiagonale
