Krépin Diatta “We had to put a lot of energy into winning”

It took time to take shape, but the victory was truly a Monegasque display at the Stade Auguste-Delaune. Author of a solid performance, the Principality club won away to Stade de Reims, who did not represent themselves to the fullest. Krépin Diatta, present in the mixed zone just after the final whistle, looked back on what was a win in style.🎙

Are you satisfied with your performance tonight?

We had a big match against a team which has been doing very good things at the start of the season. We must congratulate them, because they had the right approach. We also had a great match, and were very efficient. They also had chances, but were not as clinical; it was a pleasant match.

Was it a request from the coach to be sharper in the second half?

We had two chances in quick succession, and we put them in, that’s what made the difference. This kind of match is won on the details. We were able to achieve what we needed to achieve, and it was good for us.

Were you afraid of being caught our at the end of the match?

No not at all. We weren’t afraid, we did what we had to do not to be worried. We had to put a lot of energy into winning, and that’s what we offered this evening. This year, we are strong, especially with Folarin Balogun who has just arrived and who is extremely efficient, we knew his qualities and he helps us a lot.

What can AS Monaco hope for the rest of this season?

We will continue to work hard, because the season will still be long. Currently, we are showing some very nice things. We must continue to remain humble, we must not be mistaken in our objectives. If we give our all in every match, we can do great things. Everyone is invested, and I hope it will be a good season.
