Academy, 50 years of development
Edito from Dmitry Rybolovlev ✍️
Football development is in AS Monaco's DNA. Over its fifty years of existence, our Academy - created with remarkable vision by Jean-Louis Campora - has been built alongside outstanding coaches who have cultivated a culture of hard work, excellence and widely recognised expertise.
These foundations have allowed the Club to consistently bring through exceptional talent. AS Monaco's Academy has become one of the greatest suppliers of players to the French national team, several of whom have gone on to be crowned World and European champions with Les Bleus.
Success can also be measured through 5 Coupe Gambardella victories and the impressive number of Academy graduates who have gone on to play for the first team - nearly 150. But our greatest source of pride undoubtedly lies in the quality of support we provide to our young residents - on a sporting, academic and socio-educational level - and in the daily efforts of our staff to help them become not only great players, but well-rounded and grounded individuals. The experience gained here is an asset our players will carry with them always, along with their attachment to the Principality and to our colours.
The Academy's success would not have been possible without the support of the Prince's Government and His Serene Highness Prince Albert II. Since my arrival in 2011, we have never stopped pursuing the highest standards, and today I am proud to see that several players "Made in La Diagonale" are thriving at the highest level with our first team.
We will strive to uphold this tradition for as long as possible.
