They did it! After titles in 2004 and 2015, the France U-17s have again won the European Championships, the tournament finishing Wednesday in Israel. Lisandru Olmeta and his teammates beat the Netherlands, defending champions, in the final (2-1). The Oranje had opened the scoring just after halftime, (48′), but the Le Havre right wing Saël Kumbedi scored twice in three minutes (58′, 60′).
Decisive saves in the semifinals and quarterfinals
A starter in the French goal, Olmeta, a product of the Academy, played a very important role in this title for Les Bleuets, since he had made a big save during the quarterfinal against Germany (1-1 , 4-3 penaties), and again in the semifinals against Portugal (2-2, 6-5 penaties). Congratulations Lisandru!
