Denis Zakaria is a pure product of Swiss training. Born in Geneva, he completed his entire training at Servette FC, from 2004 to 2014. Showing great potential, he joined the following year, in the summer of 2015, with the Young Boys of Bern. Under the direction of Adi Hütter, he debuted in the Super League, playing 67 games (2 goals, 4 assists) and helped the team reach second place in the league during these two seasons. In the summer of 2017, at the age of 21, Denis Zakaria left his native country to join the Bundesliga and Borussia Mönchengladbach. In his role as a defensive midfielder he showed his passing and ball recovery skills, as the Swiss player played 146 games, scored 11 goals and provided eight assists. After five years across the Rhine, he joined Juventus in the 2022 winter transfer window. With the Old Lady, Denis Zakaria played 15 games (1 goal). There, he discovered Serie A and participated in the knockout stages of the Champions League. He was then loaned to Chelsea Football Club (11 games, 1 goal) during the 2022-2023 season, a new experience which allowed him to debut in the Premier League. His club performances have earned him numerous selections with Switzerland. For his country, the defensive midfielder has played 49 games, scoring three goals and four assists. An important figure for the "Nati", he has represented his country in the last four major international competitions (European Championships in 2016 and 2020 and the World Cup in 2018 and 2022).
