Biography

Trained at Valladolid in Spain, after having cut his teeth at the African Talent academy in Ghana, the athletic central defender tested himself against the best technicians during his three-year spell in La Liga. A player of imposing physique, Mohammed Salisu is very good in the air, both defensively and offensively. An excellent tackler and equally good at reading the game, he earned his ticket to the Premier League and signed for Southampton in the summer of 2020. After making 80 appearances for the Saints, his blossoming in the English game opened the door to his national team debut. With the Black Stars, the native of Kumasi competed in the 2022 World Cup. It was in the summer of 2023, after three years in the English league, that he finally arrived at AS Monaco. In his first season with the club, he played a total of 13 matches.
