Biography

A native of Mol, Belgium, Wout Faes, born April 3, 1998, completed his training in his native country. He started at KVV Rauw Sport Mol (2003-2006), before continuing at Lierse SK (2006-2012), then at RSC Anderlecht, where he signed his first professional contract in 2016. The following year, he made his professional debut with SC Heerenveen, in the Netherlands, and continued with Excelsior Rotterdam during the season 2017-2018 where he took part in 20 matches. The central defender then joined KV Oostende (in the Belgian top flight), with whom he played 64 matches and scored two goals between 2018 and 2020. In the summer of 2020, Wout came to France to join Stade de Reims. In the Reims jersey, he established himself as a starter in defense and took part in 77 matches in all competitions, scoring five goals. Since the summer of 2022, he has been playing for Leicester City. With the “Foxes”, he discovered the Premier League (65 matches, 2 goals, 2 assists) and the English Championship (58 matches, 3 goals, 1 assist). His performances opened the doors to the Belgian national team where he has won 28 caps to date with the Red Devils and participated in the 2022 World Cup as well as the 2024 European Championships.
