Malamine Efekele is loaned to Cercle Bruges
AS Monaco have announced the loan to Cercle Bruges, until the end of the 2023-24 season, of young striker Malamine Efekele, who has also extended his contract with the Principality club until 2026.

A French U-20 international (6 caps), Malamine Efekele is joining Cercle Bruges, the sister club of AS Monaco. The striker will join the Groen-Zwart alongside Félix Lemarechal and Jordan Semedo Varela, both products of the Academy, who are having a big role in a strong season for Cercle, currently seventh in the  Jupiler Pro League (26 matches played between them).

An extension until 2026

Before joining Cercle, Malamine extended his contract with AS Monaco until June 2026. Arriving at AS Monaco in 2019 from AS Bondy at the age of 15, Malamine Efekele completed all his classes at AS Monaco and has showed constant progress. Integrated into the first team this season, he has continued his development in parallel within the Elite Group.

Call-ups for the French international youth teams

These performances have allowed Malamine to win his first cap in March 2023, scoring his first goal with the French U-19s against Romania. At the same time, he was called up, alongside Soungoutou Magassa, to play in the U20 World Cup in Argentina.

Since then, the 19-year-old player has been frequently called up for the U-20s by Landry Chauvin. His last call-up dates back to November, he was able to share the field on that occasion with Edan Diop and Kassoum Ouattara.

AS Monaco wishes him every succes with Cercle! 🟢⚫
