Lamine Camara: "Quickly turn the page and focus on the upcoming matches"

The end of a fine run. After nine matches unbeaten since the start of the season, AS Monaco fell to the narrowest of defeats against FC Lorient at the Stade du Moustoir on Matchday 7 of Ligue 1 McDonald's (1-0). It was a frustratingly scripted encounter, which Lamine Camara sought to analyze in the mixed zone moments after the final whistle. Excerpts🎙️

Good evening, Lamine. We imagine you must be disappointed tonight...

Yes, today we suffered our first defeat of the season. Lorient played well, defended well, and we struggled to break down their defensive block. But we have to turn the page very quickly and focus on the upcoming matches.

It feels like AS Monaco is struggling to create many chances against low blocks; do you share that feeling?

Yes, it's true that when you have possession, you have to use it well, especially when facing a team that defends in a low block, because you have to watch out for counter-attacks. In fact, the penalty we conceded came from a lack of concentration on a set piece. But we are going to regroup very quickly to correct the mistakes we made during this match, so as not to repeat them in the future. We have two tough home games coming up in front of our fans, and I hope everyone will be ready.

Is this defeat a setback that will help you bounce back stronger?

Of course, perhaps this setback will serve us well in the future. We know we were on a good run with nine games unbeaten, but today's match could be a wake-up call. In any case, we will use it to come back stronger.

You are no longer alone at the top of the table; is that insignificant at this stage?

Yes, because we have only played seven games and the priority is to take it one match at a time. Of course it's frustrating, but the season is still long and nothing is decided yet.
