Philipp Köhn: “It’s up to us to impose our style against OM”
Eager to bounce back on Saturday at the Stade Louis-II (9 p.m.), the Swiss goalkeeper spoke with the media two days before the clash against Olympique de Marseille. He notably gave his support to his teammate Caio Henrique.

A regular starter and the club’s most-used player since the start of the season, Philipp Köhn has gained momentum since his arrival in the Principality. Filled with the desire to bounce back after the Derby against Nice, the Rouge et Blanc goalkeeper spoke at a press conference ahead of the match against Marseille at the Stade Louis-II (Saturday 9 p.m.). He notably looked back at his beginnings with the Club. 🎙

About Caio Henrique

It hasn’t been an easy week. The Derby loss was frustrating, and then we learned of Caio’s injury. We are all behind him, and we will give him all our support. I was able to say a word to him, but he was sad. It’s terrible because he was in great form, and he had been again called up for Brazil. Now we will all be there for him during this ordeal.

A big match against Marseille

It’s true that it’s not easy to prepare, because the opposing tactics can change with the arrival of the new coach. But we remain focused on ourselves and our philosophy. We know that Olympique de Marseille are a very good team, and we will have to impose our style, and play our game.

On the start to the season

We all make mistakes, no matter what position we play. After the first goal we conceded against Clermont, I learned a lot. I have felt good since then. I can still improve in certain areas, and my goal is to ensure that we win matches without conceding a goal. I know this is going to happen.

I have a good understanding with the defenders, especially those who play right in front of me, whether its Guillermo, or Zak' (Denis Zakaria). There is good communication among us. We are aware of our qualities, especially in the defensive sector, even if we can still improve. But the most important thing is that we have a good team overall.

Frustration at how matches finish

Against Lorient, we were unlucky. We are a young team, and we need to improve certain points, make better decisions and manage strong and weak moments. The coach also told us to be more vigilant at the end of the match. There are still a few details to be ironed out so that we can improve in key moments.

His relationship with the defenders

I have a good understanding with the defenders, especially those who play right in front of me, whether its Guillermo, or Zak’ (Denis Zakaria). There is good communication among us. We are aware of our qualities, especially in the defensive sector, even if we can still improve. But the most important thing is that we have a good team overall.

The role of Wissam Ben Yedder

I was very well received by Wissam. He has a great mentality and brings us a lot of energy. He showed this against Nice, even when he was not in the starting XI, but brought a lot when he came on. He is very important in the locker room, thanks to his character and his experience. We need him, and I know he will score many goals in the games to come.

The absence of Golovin

Golo’ is an excellent player, but we already knew that he was not going to be present for this weekend’s match against Marseille. As I said, we have a lot of quality on the bench to replace him. I know that the coach will make the right decision to compensate for his absence.

Rise. Risk. Repeat.
