Edan Diop extends his contract until 2028

Edan Diop, the versatile young midfielder trained at AS Monaco (18 years old), has extended his contract with the Principality, until June 2028.

The Tours native, who turns 19 on 28 August, joined the Academy in 2019 after playing for Tours Football Club (2009-2014) and Chambray FC (2014-2019) in the Indre-et-Loire region.

Eight games played as a professional

Trained in La Diagonal, Edan Diop, who signed his first professional contract in August 2022, was one of the Principality club’s revelations last season. After starting the 2022-23 season in the Elite group, Edan took part in his first professional match in the Europa League against Bayer Leverkusen on 23 February.

Following that match, Edan made 8 appearances for the pro team, including a goal against Racing Club de Strasbourg, which helped Monaco to a 4-3 win.

A confirmed French U19 international

In September 2022, Edan Diop was called up to the French U19 team for the first time. Since then, he has played 8 matches, including several alongside Eliesse Ben Seghir and Malamine Efekele, and has established himself as a regular in the team. Edan particularly stood out during the U19 European Championship qualifiers, scoring 4 goals.

AS Monaco wishes him the best with les Rouge & Blanc!
