He continued his incredible run. Having already scored in five consecutive matches between February and March (five goals, one assist), Folarin Balogun didn't let up in April and continued to showcase his finishing skills by scoring in three more games, thus breaking several records. These remarkable performances deservedly earned him the Bang & Olufsen MVP of the Month award.

It's one of my best goals, yes, especially since its importance makes it even more special. We're in good form and I'm very happy with this victory. (At the peak of his career?) I think so! The help and support I receive from the coach and Kevin (Mirallas) allow me to perform well.

Folarin Balogun, on his goal against OM

A moment of genius against OM 🥵

Valuable since the start of the season, particularly with his link-up play and hold-up work, Balo has now added a clinical edge in front of goal, as evidenced by his masterpiece against Olympique de Marseille. Making a run in behind the defense, he outpaced CJ Egan-Riley before executing a fabulous lob over Geronimo Rulli from an almost impossible angle. It was a precious strike, as it allowed AS Monaco to extend their lead and secure a 2-1 victory in this crucial match.

Level with Nonda and Anderson 🔝

The American striker then repeated the feat a week later away to Paris FC, in order to reduce the score (4-1), and finally against AJ Auxerre from the penalty spot after having won it himself, to level the score (2-2).

Having scored in eight consecutive Ligue 1 matches, he became the fifth player to achieve this feat in the top flight in the 21st century, after Sonny Anderson with Lyon in 2001 (11), Shabani Nonda with AS Monaco in 2003 (8), Rony Lopes with the club from the Rock in 2018 (8) and Moussa Dembélé with OL in 2022 (8).

A second MVP ✌️

It's therefore no surprise that he won the Bang & Olufsen MVP award for April by a wide margin, with 85% of the vote, ahead of Maghnes Akliouche, who provided two assists, and Lamine Camara, who scored a sublime goal against Toulouse. The number 9 thus claims his second award this season, following his win in February.. Bravo Balo’! 👏
