FILIPE LUÍS Coach

In 2024, Filipe Luís took his first managerial steps at CR Flamengo, where he quickly distinguished himself with the youth teams before being promoted to head coach of the first team a few months later. Under his leadership, the Rio de Janeiro club won several major trophies, including the 2025 Brazilian Championship and the 2025 Copa Libertadores. These achievements earned him the title of 2025 South American Coach of the Year. These results were a natural continuation of a highly successful playing career under highly renowned managers. A former full-back, Filipe Luís notably made 333 appearances for Atlético Madrid under Diego Simeone, but also played for Chelsea FC under José Mourinho—winning the Premier League in 2015—before finishing his career at CR Flamengo. With the Brazilian national team, the former left-back earned 44 caps and won the 2019 Copa América. Filipe Luís now joins AS Monaco to take charge of the first team.
