Born on 1 January 2004 in Bignona, Senegal, Lamine Camara completed all his training in his native country. In 2019, his career took him to AS Génération Foot. Thanks to his good performances, he played a key role in Senegal's success at the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in January 2023. The midfielder went on to win the African U20 Nations Cup against Gambia (2-0). A regular in every game, he scored two goals and provided two assists, earning him the award for best player of the competition. In February 2023, Lamine joined FC Metz in Ligue 2, with whom he finished second in the league and progressed to Ligue 1. During the 2023-2024 season, he made a name for himself as a box-to-box midfielder, becoming a key cog in the FC Metz machine with 33 games played (5 assists, 2 goals). He was awarded the title of “Nugget of the Season”, a distinction awarded by Ligue 1 and based on public voting. He then took part in the African Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire with the senior team. Starting three times in four games, he shone in the first match against Gambia, scoring twice for the Lions of Teranga. He finally joined AS Monaco at the end of July 2024. It has to be said that his first season in the Rouge et Blanc has been a great success. With 40 games played, he scored two goals in the process, including the winner in injury time in the Centenaire match against Montpellier, and provided seven assists, not least his remarkable accuracy from set-pieces.
