Aurélien Tchouameni : "A good sign for the future"
Aurélien Tchouameni comments the super victory of Monaco over PSG (3-0), this Sunday in Ligue 1 Gameweek 29. Extracts of his interview.

What a game! This Sunday, AS Monaco dominated PSG with a neat win (3-0) in the biggest result of Ligue 1 Gameweek 29. A sensational collective performance, which pleased Aurélien Tchouameni, who is confident and ambitious, projecting today’s good feelings towards the next nine league matches. Here are the main words from the French international, who will join the Blues during the international break.

Clearly, we didn't get the results we were hoping for in the last few games, but it was a big match against a big team. In addition, the Stadium was full and it was a pleasure to hear our supporters cheering for us. There are still nine Ligue 1 games to go, so a lot of points to pick up, and we hope to be rewarded at the end of the season.

Bonjour Aurélien. What’s your analysis of this fantastic victory?

We have respected the game plan put in place by the coach. We were keen to press them from the start of the match in order to win high balls, and this allowed us to gain confidence and serenity as the game progressed. We had a different game plan from the last few games, with a lot of one-on-ones, and that allowed us to recover a lot of high balls and exploit transitions, which are one of our strengths.

Did you feel the pressure before the match ?

No, we didn’t, because we try to enjoy every game. Clearly, we didn’t get the results we were hoping for in the last few games, but it was a big match against a big team. In addition, the Stadium was full and it was a pleasure to hear our supporters cheering for us. There are still nine Ligue 1 games to go, so a lot of points to pick up, and we hope to be rewarded at the end of the season.

Does this superb victory leaves you with regrets for Europa League elimination happened on Thursday?

If we didn’t manage to get through against SC Braga in the Europa League, and if we have lost points in the league, it is because we still have room for improvement. It’s up to us to keep working and keep growing as players and as a team.

Today your midfielder partnership with Youssouf Fofana was brilliant…

It felt good to play in this system. After the last games, I questioned myself. Today we found some answers and that made our game much smoother. This is a good sign for the future.

Tell us about that amazing goal by Wissam Ben Yedder…

He has a technical quality that is impressive and not ordinary. I think when Youssouf was about to cross he said to himself that since there was Wissam in the middle, there was a better chance of the ball ending up in the back of the net.

Rise. Risk. Repeat.
