A native of the Ariège region, Christian Mawissa honed his skills in his homeland. He started out at FC Pays d'Olmes, before moving on to FC Mirepoix, FC Coussatois and FC Coussa-Hers, before signing for Toulouse FC in 2017 to further his education. Alongside his development, he is regularly called up to the youth categories of the French national team (U17, U18 and U19). With Les Bleus, he won the European U17 Championship in 2022, beating the Netherlands 2-1. A few days later, he won the French U17 Championship, the first for Le Téfécé, against AC Ajaccio (4-0). In November, he signed his first professional contract with Toulouse and played his first game in the top flight against Olympique de Marseille at the Velodrome. The versatile defender enjoyed a successful 2023-2024 season with Les Violets, gradually establishing himself as a key member of the Toulouse defence and taking part in the club's successful European campaign. Having come in to provide an extra piece in the defensive rotation, he rounded off a more than convincing first season with 28 games to his name, including his first two appearances in the Champions League.
