Mayssam Benama signs his first professional contract!
AS Monaco are pleased to announce the signing of Mayssam Benama's first professional contract. The Academy-trained midfielder has signed with the club until June 2026.

After Ritchy Valme and Lucas Michal, a third Coupe Gambardella champion has signed his first professional contract with AS Monaco. Mayssam Benama, age 18 has signed a contract through 2026 with his first professional club after joining in 2020, having played for Tours-Nord and Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire previously.

Also having played at Pôle Espoirs de Châteauroux, the young midfielder then continued his training at the Academy. Last season, he also reached the final of the U-19 national championship under Frédéric Barilaro.

Mayssam, I like him a lot. I am always there to talk with him, to advise him. I hope he will continue to grow and become a very, very good player.

It was also under the Monegasque technician that he won the Coupe Gambardella on April 29. A regular winner throughout his AS Monaco career, Mayssam Benama played in all of the Rouge et Blanc’s matches in the competition as a starter.

A part of the Elite Group and an U-18 international

Scorer of a double as the Monegasques entered the fray against Vénissieux (5-0), he then did it again against Aubagne (4-1), Rouen (3-1), and then scored in the final against Clermont Foot (4-2). In the quarter-finals, against FC Nantes, he also set up Pape Cabral perfectly for the only goal of the match (1-0).

Already part of the Elite Group, he participated in the last matches played by Damien Perrinelle’s men, who won in Lyon in their last match of the season (3-2). Mayssam also has had three caps for the French U-17s and four with the U-18s, led by the 1998 World Champion Bernard Diomède.
